Draw as a sketch. It was a beautiful chest, about thirteen inches long, eleven inches deep, and seven inches tall. It was made mostly of what looked to be old mahogany. Complementing the dark, aged wood were bronze pieces spread throughout. In some places, they seemed to be simply attached to the wood, while in others, they were embedded. All of the embedded bronze pieces were so flush and so precisely placed that one would have thought they had been painted onto the wood. The lid had most of the raised portions. These were bronze leaves in the shape of spades, except for the tips of the leaves, which curved slightly. They were like apple leaves, but with a curved tip. The leaves were spaced evenly, framing the chest’s lid about an inch from its edges: four along the top, four along the bottom, and one on each side between the two rows, for a total of ten. In the very center of the lid was an M, also made of bronze. Furthermore, the lid had a bronze cord that ran along its outer edges and encircled the leaves as a whole. This cord was not raised; rather, it was embedded into the wood. It consisted of seven knots spaced evenly along its length. At one end of the cord was a loop, and at the other was a fringe. Supporting the body of the chest were finely decorated legs. Each leg was made of bronze and shaped like a fig leaf. The stem portion of the leaf formed the actual leg but split into three sections.
