Microscopic view of a dark, irregular virus particle with a textured surface against a neutral bluish-gray background.

Microscopic view of the Martian-Russian Winter Virus (M-RWV) under cryo-electron microscopy. The virus particle is 90–120 nanometers in diameter with a dense, folded RNA core forming lobed structures. Surrounding the core is a semi-transparent, interlocking protein-prion lattice with irregular, non-symmetrical geometry. No surface spikes or capsid-like projections are present. The particle is electron-dense, appearing darker than the surrounding medium. Background shows uniform cryo-EM texture with neutral bluish-gray tones. The structure appears stable and rigid at low temperature, with clear molecular-level detail. Mehr sehen
