During the production of the DC Extended Universe, while LEGO did make sets based on Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it didn't make any sets based on Suicide Squad (2016), presumably due to it's edgier content, and instead included minifigures of some of its characters (i.e. Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Katana, Captain Boomerang, and Killer Croc) in the mainline DC Set. While they did make a minifigure of Harley's appearance in that film, it only ever came out in the "Apocalypseburg" set from The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, and became an expensively rare minifigure for collectors to hunt. LEGO also never made sets based on Birds of Prey (2020), The Suicide Squad (2021) or its spinoff Peacemaker (2022) due to their R-ratings, but it strangely chose not to make sets based on SHAZAM! (2019), Black Adam (2022), SHAZAM! Fury of the Gods, Blue Beetle (2023), and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, though the slate from Fury Of The Gods onward may be due to the end of the DCEU and the subsequent takeover by James Gunn to be retooled.
