Create a candid image of the person described in this bio: Hello! I'm Emma Nielsen, starting my 4th semester at UNT as an Interdisciplinary Art and Design Major. Since my studies revolve around art and its many forms, art history takes precedence in how I go about my work. For example, last year, I created multiple works based on the practice of burning/banning books. While most of my research revolved around the practice within Nazi Germany, I found myself linking it to today's circulation (or lack thereof) in regard to book banning. Along with my research, I read many dystopian fiction novels which were ultimately collections of an artists'/authors' response to the world around them. Art history not only teaches us about artistic movements and popular styles, but about how we, as human beings, perceive the world around us and therefore respond through creative medium. Ver mais
