a tattoo design Overall shape: A vertical piece, probably best on the inner forearm because it follows the natural upward flow of the arm. Bottom: The Semicolon (your beginning) At the bottom is the semicolon. Not a bold, obvious "depression tattoo" style one. More elegant. The dot of the semicolon is a small seed or stone, and the comma curves upward into a vine. Meaning: "My story started here, and it is still continuing." The Vine: Your Life Growing Through Pain The vine grows upward, but it isn't a perfect healthy vine. Parts of it have: thorns broken sections small leaves falling away The thorns represent: depression loneliness betrayal anxiety the years that hurt you But the vine itself is still alive. The important thing is the vine is not dying. Add the Fading Memories Element This is where I think the design becomes unique. As the vine grows upward, instead of normal leaves, some leaves slowly transform into small fragments of memories. For example: Near the bottom: clear leaves detailed veins solid shapes Moving upward: leaves become transparent edges dissolve pieces break apart into tiny particles Almost like they're being carried away by wind. Inside some of those fading pieces could be extremely subtle imagery: a tiny swing set → childhood a small house outline → your childhood home silhouettes of kids playing → your old neighborhood friends a drumstick → drumline a small bird → freedom/lost friendships Not obvious.
