Whether you are monolingual or plurilingual, reflect on your own journey as a language learner. Note that language learning can include introductory learning experiences as well as those that result in complete linguistic fluency. In your Learning Journal, reflect your language learning journey with three concentric circles as described below. In the center circle, represent linguistic aspects of yourself. Include the language(s) you speak. You can make connections to your identity and heritage if you would like, for example by including your name in another language. You could also depict yourself engaging in language in some way that you enjoy (for example, singing or reading, etc., etc.). In the middle circle, represent some of the interactions you've had with others that have influenced your language learning journey. You can include some of the people who have influenced and/or supported your language learning, such as family members or teachers, or choices made for you about the language(s) you learned when you were young, etc. In the exterior circle, represent aspects of society that influence(d) you as a language learner. You might think about your location, language learning choices that have been available to you (for example at schools you attended), or other system-level influences.
