A highly detailed original dragon inspired by How to Train Your Dragon (HTTYD), the Undertow Skimmer, is a sleek tidal ocean dragon evolved for hunting in powerful coastal currents and deep underwater trenches. The creature has a long, low-profile serpentine body built for hydrodynamic speed, resembling a mix of an eel, a sea serpent, and a manta ray, yet remaining distinctly dragon-like. Its skin is smooth and semi-translucent in places, with layered bio-organic armour plates along its spine that resemble weathered sea glass and coral stone. These plates are asymmetrical and flow backwards like waves, allowing them to cut through water with minimal resistance. Its colouration shifts subtly with the lighting: deep ocean teal, stormy slate blue, and faint bioluminescent turquoise highlights that pulse along its veins when it accelerates underwater. The head is narrow and angular, shaped like a spear or a diving raptor, with recessed glowing eyes adapted to abyssal darkness. Its jaw splits slightly at the sides when it opens, revealing multiple rows of sharp, needle-like teeth designed to grip slippery prey such as fish and squid. Small whisker-like sensory fins extend from its cheeks and jawline, rippling constantly to detect pressure changes in the water.
