Generate many a compare and contrast pictures of Laie before and after Current State of the Economy: Today, Laie’s economy mainly depends on tourism, education, and small local businesses. A lot of people visit the Polynesian Cultural Center every year, and Brigham Young University–Hawaii also brings students and workers into the town. These places help create jobs for local families and students. However, tourism also causes problems like traffic, crowded beaches, and expensive housing. Many local people worry that the cost of living keeps getting higher, making it harder for families to stay in Laie. Even though tourism helps the economy, some people feel that too much focus on visitors can hurt Hawaiian culture and traditions over time. Future State in a Thriving Lāhui (2050): By 2050, I think Laie could have a more balanced economy that focuses on helping local people and protecting Hawaiian culture. There could be more Hawaiian-owned businesses, sustainable farming, and renewable energy jobs. For example, fishpond restoration and local agriculture projects could create jobs while also caring for the land. Tourism would still exist, but it could become more respectful to Hawaiian traditions and the environment. Affordable housing and better community programs could also help families continue living in Laie without being pushed out because of rising costs. Ver mais
