The next chamber opens into a cavernous hall so vast that sound seems to vanish before it can echo. The floor stretches out in smooth black stone etched with faint geometric patterns, all of them converging toward a colossal circular pit carved into the center of the room. Its edges are perfectly cut, but whatever lies below is swallowed by absolute darkness. When a loose pebble skitters over the rim, it falls for an impossibly long time before the faintest, hollow whisper drifts back up—if it was a sound at all. Across the chasm stands a towering golden door, its surface embossed with spiraling reliefs of ancient figures crossing bridges made of light. The metal glows faintly even in the dim chamber, untouched by dust or corrosion, as if waiting patiently for someone worthy to arrive.
