The Mnemosyne Colossus does not possess a skeleton in the traditional sense. Instead, it is a massive, undulating mound of translucent, iridescent tissue, roughly the size of an African elephant. Its surface is a thick, slimy membrane that shimmers with a pearlescent oil-slick sheen, constantly secreting a viscous, colorless mucus that allows it to glide silently over jagged limestone. Beneath the semi-transparent skin, one can see the rhythmic pulsing of violet-colored organs and a network of bioluminescent veins that flicker like dying stars. It has no eyes, no nose, and no mouth in a fixed location; instead, it possesses a series of opportunistic "absorption vents"—folds in its skin that can open and close to engulf prey or filter nutrients from the cave air. Its movement is facilitated by a forest of thick, muscular tentacles that emerge from its underside.
