Head and face Neck Shoulders Upper body/body Face with generally correct proportions Body with correct basic proportions Size of the finished artwork: at least 6 × 9 inches Add some color with colored pencils You can make the person: 🧑 Realistic ✏️ Cartoon 🎭 Abstract Or a mixture of styles ⭐ Easiest idea for a good grade I recommend doing a semi-realistic person from the chest up rather than a complicated full-body pose. For example: Draw it like this: Lightly sketch an oval for the head. Add guidelines to position the eyes, nose, and mouth. Draw the ears and hair. Add the neck. Add the shoulders and upper body. Erase unnecessary guidelines. Add facial details and shading. Color the hair, eyes, clothing, etc. with colored pencils. Add a clean 1-inch border around the artwork. Make sure the paper is clean and there aren't lots of messy leftover pencil marks. 📏 Important proportions Don't worry about making the person perfect. Just remember: The eyes should be around the middle of the head. The space between the eyes is roughly one eye-width. The nose goes between the eyes and mouth. The mouth goes below the nose. The neck connects naturally underneath the head. The shoulders should be wider than the neck. Keep the head, neck, and body connected naturally. Voir plus
