But the Cross did not disappear from the memory of believers, and the search for it waited for the right time. Part 2 — Three Centuries of Waiting Many long years passed — then more years still — until nearly three centuries had gone by. During these years the Cross remained buried, while days and generations changed. But God was preparing the way for the Cross to appear again, and for people to know its location. Part 3 — Constantine's Vision At the beginning of the fourth century, Constantine was preparing for a great battle against Maxentius. On the night before the battle, something extraordinary happened. Constantine saw a shining cross in the sky, surrounded by clear words that said: "By this sign, you shall conquer." This vision was the beginning of a very important event in his life. Part 4 — By This Sign, Conquer Constantine was moved by what he saw, and placed the sign of the cross on his army's banners. The next day he entered the battle, trusting that God would help him. The battle ended with Voir plus
