A vintage photograph, a "Carte de Visite" (CdV) from the year 1888, featuring a young German girl named Dorothea, aged 15. The photo is a Sepia-toned albumen print pasted onto a thick, cream-colored cardboard mount (approx. 6.5 x 10.5 cm). Dorothea is standing, full-body, in a photography studio setting, posing strictly and formally. She wears a high-necked, dark blue woolen day dress with tight sleeves and a subtle bustle, appropriate for a young lady of her standing. Her hair is neatly styled in an updo. Her right hand rests gently on an ornate, dark wooden pedestal table, near a leather-bound book. The background is a painted studio backdrop depicting a romantic, slightly blurred park scene with classical stone balustrades. The entire CdV card has aged edges, slightly foxed and worn. Below the image, printed in elegant, gold-embossed German script, is the photographer's imprint: "PHOTOGRAPHIE J.B. ZEILNER, BREMEN. ABENTHORSSTR. 48." The back of the card shows elaborate decorative flourishes and text indicating "Die Platte wird für Nachbestellungen aufbewahrt." The photograph has a soft, period-appropriate film grain. Voir plus
