SCENE START SETTING: The living room. A plate with a single slice of pizza remains in front of CHIDI (who is looking glumly at it). MAMA sits on the sofa, remote in hand. CHIMAMANDA is on the floor, looking impatient. MAMA: (Pressing buttons) Since you want to watch TV so badly, we will watch something that will make you appreciate your food and your clean home. Something that will show you what happens when things are taken for granted. CHIMAMANDA: (Squinting at the screen) Mom? It says "Rating: 13+." I’m only eight. Are we allowed to watch this? MAMA: (Waving a hand dismissively) It's just a number. This movie is called The Great Adventure of the Lost Spoon. CHIDI: (Confused) A lost spoon? That doesn't sound very exciting. MAMA: Ah, but this is a very special spoon! It belonged to a wise elder, and without it, the whole village can't eat their soup! CHIMAMANDA: (Intrigued) So, what happens? Do they go on a quest? MAMA: (Smiling) Exactly! They have to travel through the Whispering Woods and cross the Grumbling River to find the spoon before dinnertime. And look – look at that character! He looks a bit like your Uncle Dele when he's trying to find his keys. CHIDI: (Chuckling slightly) He does! MAMA: And see? Because the little boy in the movie didn't put his spoon away after eating, the wind carried it all the way to the next village. Just like your toys end up in the next room when you don't tidy up.
