The show is this to Alma's Way, as both preschool shows revolving around the life of a girl in the city. While Little Ellen is based on the childhood of Ellen DeGeneres and is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Alma's Way is an original idea created by Sonia Manzano, well-known for playing Maria on Sesame Street. it is produced by Pipeline Studios and Fred Rogers Productions, the same company behind Daniel Tiger. Not only Little Ellen got Overshadowed by Controversy due to complications regarding Ellen DeGeneres’ popular talk show, but got cancelled halfway though it’s run due to the Warner Bros. Discovery Merger, which removes plenty of original series from HBO Max that performed bellow their expectations.
