Make a graphic novel scene by scene based on my text: Beginning: The bus is bustling, every two seconds someone's body bumps me and I absolutely hate it. It’s so hot here. Clara is sitting next to me. She’s trying to show me a picture about this boy from another school that she liked, but I don’t really listen. I came back to Oakland for my summer break… Clara: OMG, I’m so happy that your mom is letting you go tho! She says. We are going to this party thing downtown. An old friend of Clara invited her, but she doesn’t know anybody there. In front of us is seated a woman with her daughter. I can’t help but laugh at the sight of the mother trying to sit her daughter down. It seems like they’re in a rush. Oh I remember when MY momma yanked my head to braid me? Girl: Mom! It hurts! Mom: It’s okay sweetie, I’m bout to finish Girl (pouting and crossed arms): I wish I had straight hair!! Everything would be more simple. The mom just keeps quietly brushing the girls head into a sleek ponytail. I remember when I was like that. Oh how times change. I am brought back to my memories as a child *FLASHBACK I’m standing in front of the mirror. This year is going to be different. Sarah-Mai won’t laugh about my hair and I’ll be normal this time. I’m going to straighten my hair so I can look like the other girls in my class that have pretty and long straight hair. I take the straightener in my hand.
