Vortexx ended its run on The CW on September 27, 2014, due to the FCC mandating all broadcast networks by law to air more educational and informative (E/I) programming in compliance with the Children’s Television Act, as well as the cultural shift of airing children’s and animation programming on cable and streaming. Vortexx was replaced with One Magnificent Morning, a Saturday morning program block produced by Hearst Media Production Group (formerly Litton Entertainment) for The CW, which aired lifestyle and factual programming aimed at children and teens. Vortexx marked the end of airing children’s animation programming on Saturday morning which had been a staple of American television for six decades.
