Without a diagnosis, access to critical benefits, therapies, services, and community resources is often delayed. During this “in the meantime” period, families frequently experience emotional and financial hardship. Many children with developmental delays may not thrive in traditional daycare settings, and the level of care required can make it difficult for parents to maintain employment or secure reliable support systems.
