16th‑century Ottoman Empire version of DC’s Joker, full‑body character, highly detailed, cinematic lighting: A tall, disturbingly thin man dressed like a warped Ottoman court jester and street performer in 1500s Istanbul. He wears a long, fitted kaftan in bright, poisonous green silk, slightly crooked in its cut so the hem is uneven and the sleeves a bit too long. Underneath, the kaftan is open to reveal a deep purple entari (robe) with subtle diamond / harlequin patterns in the fabric. The kaftan’s collar and cuffs are trimmed with chaotic, jagged gold embroidery – distorted versions of elegant Ottoman arabesque patterns, like broken smiles. The front closures are mismatched: different styles of frogs and toggles, some ornate, some plain, as if stolen from many garments. Around his waist is a wide sash (kuşak) in clashing yellow and pale green, wrapped too many times, knotted tight to give him a wasp‑waisted, theatrical silhouette. Tucked into the sash are sinister objects: an ornate jeweled dagger, a small leather pouch of powders, a bone‑handled razor, and a folded deck of illustrated fortune‑telling cards. His trousers are loose, dark purple şalvar pants made of slightly shiny silk, gathered at the ankles and disappearing into curled‑toe slippers. The slippers are glossy green, almost reptilian, the tips exaggeratedly long and whimsical, with faint reddish stains near the seams.
