The LRICV, or Long Range Interplanetary Colonial Vehicle, is a unique megastructure designed for colonizing Serenara and the outer system. Construction began in 2011 and was completed in early 2032. The vehicle measures 850 meters in length and primarily consists of modular pods, except for its centrifuges. Each pod has three layers: two outer walls surrounded by a thick gel-like substance to absorb radiation and micro-impacts, and an inner pod for use. The spacecraft is powered by a fusion reactor and propelled by Inertial Confinement Engines (ICF). For shorter missions, it uses smaller nuclear engines on either side, which also aid in directional control when the ICF is off. It features two fore-facing shields for protection against small to mid-sized impacts and can create an ionizing field to turn small to moderate celestial objects into plasma, redirecting it via electromagnetic fields. For defense against man-made weapons, it employs electronic warfare and the ionizing field. The LRICV includes two centrifuges, Alpha and Beta, each with a diameter of 212.5 meters, rotating at around 1.83 RPM to generate 0.80Gs. Each centrifuge accommodates approximately 350 people, focusing on comfort and long-range missions rather than quick rotations for tourism and studies. A significant portion of the LRICV is dedicated to radiators to prevent overheating of the engines and fusion reactor. Maintenance is required every two years, and food and supplies need restocking every five See more
