Instructions for Students: Title your drawing: “Jesus Heals Through Us” or “God’s Love in Times of Sickness” Include These Key Elements: A Peaceful Scene of the Anointing: A priest anointing someone’s forehead and hands A calm and respectful setting: a church, home, hospital, or even outdoors The sick person could be sitting in a chair, bed, or resting comfortably Supportive People Around Them: Family and friends standing or sitting nearby, some with their hands folded in prayer Maybe someone offering a smile, a gentle touch, or holding a hand Symbols of the Sacrament: Oil of the Sick (small vessel or container) A cross or Bible nearby The words “Lord, have mercy” written on a banner, speech bubble, or scroll You could also include a dove to show the Holy Spirit’s presence Bonus Touches: A bright light or glow over the person being anointed, symbolizing healing A heart or peaceful sky to show comfort and love Speech bubble from the priest: “May the Lord help you with the grace of the Holy Spirit.” Reflection Prompt: Underneath or on the back of their drawing, ask: “What would you say or do to comfort someone who is sick?” See more
