Our Write-Up for Game Name of Game: The last drop Choice of Game Design: We want to design the cards to make it represent the importance of water management and sustainability. What Players Can Learn from Our Game: Players can learn about water consumption – the way we constantly use up water for daily needs. The goal to stay in the game is mainly learning about sustainable or strategic water management, which is basically using their limited resources wisely so they don’t run out too fast. As some countries are naturally “Water-Rich” and others are “water-poor” due to their location, players in the game would start with 4 different action cards. Some may draw defensive cards while others start with lesser defensive-capable cards, which mimics the uneven spatial distribution of resources at the start (Birth). Also, the “water leech” card mechanic can also mirror the real world. Countries often compete or even have political conflicts over shared water sources. The “Water leech” mechanic represents this well as it shows how water can be moved from one player to another, creating a situation where one person thrives while another suffers from a water shortage. Additionally, because water isn’t distributed evenly and runs out over time, players must use sustainable water management strategies on when to save and when to spend (to survive). This is like how Singapore must use technology and conservation to manage their limited natural supply. Instructions and/or Rules for the Mehr sehen
