SCENE Night. A narrow side street glistens in the rain after a violent storm. Dark clouds drift across the moon, casting shadows on the street. The wet asphalt reflects the dim light of a single streetlamp. Steam rises from the manhole covers and drifts through the light. In the background stands a damaged bank building with a large sign reading "BANK." Several windows are shattered. Nearby, a wrecked car is burning, flames and thick smoke rising into the night air. MAIN TASK An old sedan from the 1940s speeds down the street. A second car follows closely behind. A gangster stands with his back to the viewer on the running board of the lead car, his left hand gripping the door frame. He wears a beige, wide-brimmed fedora and a beige trench coat over a dark suit— classic film noir gangster style. His coat flaps violently in the wind. With his right hand, he fires a smoking mid-20th-century pistol at the pursuing car. A muzzle flash briefly illuminates its silhouette. Bullet holes are visible in the radiator and windshield of the second car. CHARACTER The driver of the lead car is barely recognizable, his face in the shadow of his hat. Only part of his jawline and the cigarette smoke are visible. CAMERA SPOKE Wide, cinematic shot from an extremely low angle (worm's-eye view), as if the camera were positioned close to the wet road.
