Front Stance (Ap Seogi / 앞서기) The front stance is one of the most fundamental stances in Taekwondo. It provides stability, strength, and forward power. Feet and Legs: Step one foot forward about one-and-a-half shoulder widths. The front knee bends so that it is directly above the ankle, forming roughly a 90-degree angle. The back leg remains straight, with the heel firmly planted on the floor. The toes of the back foot point slightly outward (~30°). Weight Distribution: Approximately 60–70% of your weight on the front leg, 30–40% on the back leg. Upper Body: Keep your torso upright, chest open, and shoulders relaxed. Arms and Hands: Hands in guarding position near your face or chest. Elbows slightly bent to protect the ribs. Purpose: Used for strong strikes and blocks. Provides stability for both attacking and defending. Mehr sehen
