Early 2000s in England. I lived with my mum, it was just me and her that lived at our house. She had gone on holiday with friends to Turkey so I was home alone. I was probabaly 17/18 years old at the time and I was buzzing to be home alone and to have the house all to myself. I was downstairs in the living room playing on my PlayStation 2 in the dark. It was the middle of the night, around 2am. To set the scene the stairs in the house were In the living room, so you'd go up and down the stairs near where I was sat on the sofa. The next thing I know there was a massive bang just behind me for several seconds. It was like somebody was falling down the stairs from top to bottom. My first thought was that somebody had broken into the house, climbed through the landing window (which was directly at the top of the stairs.) I ran to the light switch and switched the light on expecting to see a person who had broken in. What I saw was the vacuum cleaner at the bottom of the stairs. The vacuum cleaner was always kept in the spare room which was the room the furthest away from the top of the stairs. The room was a good 15-20 feet away from the top of the stairs. I'd been up and down several times that night to nip to my room and to use the toilet. The vacuum cleaner had been in the spare room with the door shut. It's like somebody had opened the door on the far side of the landing, bought the vacuum to the top of the stairs and threw it down. I ran out of the house and stood at the Mehr sehen
