First of all, it is so unfaithful to the source material that it puts such adaptations as Dragonball: Evolution, The Last Airbender, Super Mario Bros. from 1993, Artemis Fowl, Postman Pat: The Movie, ad Charlie's Angels from 2019, as well as this franchise's 2016 reboot to shame by comparison. Many references to adult-related subjects such as drugs, sex, alcohol, and more, completely botch the child-like nature the original show had, and to an extent, the previous reboot. Now, the concept of an adult-orientated version of The Powerpuff Girls could've actually worked; in fact, this short YouTube video adaptation from 2014 (2 years before the 2016 reboot) was able to make the concept work. The problem here is that it was executed very poorly in this canceled reboot. There are some political elements in the script and pilot. Most notably, when Buttercup says that she is not wearing the dress she normally wears when she fights crime because it’s “Gender Normative and ass ugly”. The script was even worse because it originally had her say that the dress was “Compulsory heterosexuality”. Shameless product placement, including Slurpee, Hpnotiq, Uber, Spirit Airlines, various social media websites, and more. They even have the guts to insult the source material with a scene where Buttercup (Or Bubbles in the leaked script) comments on how the show and merchandise portrayed them as whitewashed figures, both of which were made by Professor Utonium (Who is ironically portrayed as black Mehr sehen
