Design research sketches of an interactive public installation inspired by a traditional carpet, reimagined as a rigid steel surface placed in a park. The project explores social distance through a slightly tilting platform: the surface becomes stable when people stand close together and unstable when they are far apart. The structure is hidden underground, creating the illusion of a floating carpet. Show the full design process through hand-drawn sketches: early concepts, exploration of rectangular forms, balance and pivot systems, hidden mechanical structures, and detailed pattern studies inspired by traditional carpets translated into metal stitching motifs. Include diagrams, annotations, human figures, and multiple iterations, in an architectural sketch style, ink and pencil on paper Mehr sehen
