Dark gray pottery vessel with a cord-impressed textured band, notched lip, and a subconoidal shape on a gray background.

Highly detailed archaeological illustration of a complete Danner Cordmarked Notched Lip Applique pottery vessel from the Zimmerman archaeological site in Illinois, Late Prehistoric period. The vessel has a subconoidal to parabolic shape with medium capacity, approximately 25 cm in diameter at the rim. The body features irregular cordmarking that extends upward over the shoulder break, creating a textured, crisscrossing cord-impressed surface. The neck is smoothed and plain above the shoulder. The rim is finished with a distinctive exterior-notched lip created from an applied strip welded to the lip or by rolling and pinching the lip outward. The notches are deep to shallow, made with the edge of a small stick, spaced irregularly between 8 mm and 15 mm apart, encircling the entire lip. No handles, lugs, or other appendages are present on the rim or body. The pottery has a realistic dark grayish-brown to blackish fired clay color with natural surface variation and subtle earthy tones. Photorealistic rendering with accurate archaeological details, soft even studio lighting, neutral light gray background, viewed from a three-quarter angle that clearly shows the vessel’s subconoidal shape, cordmarked body texture, smoothed neck, shoulder break, and the detailed notched lip applique. Museum-quality scientific illustration style, highly accurate to archaeological descriptions. Mehr sehen
