The overall image has dark grey walls with red brick peaking through in the top left corner from the paint. It also has a light brown wooden floor. In the centre there is a knee height pale wood table that has a slight yellow tint to it, and a support beam under it. In the top left corner of the painting there is a female pheasant dead and hanging upside down by the legs with some twine. You can see the pheasant’s underbelly and her beak, and her wings are spread out. On the very back of the table there is a wicker basket that has one black pheasant dead in it, one dead male pheasant, and three dead female pheasants. All of the pheasants in the basket are facing forwards apart from one which is facing in the opposite direction. On the left side of the table there is a dead heron with its head hanging off of the table and its neck. There is a dark tabby cat under the table reaching up to grab and bite the herons neck. There is one large male peacock that is dead spread along the middle of the table in front of the wicker basket, with its feathers reaching under the heron and to the floor. The neck of the peacock rests on the body of two more dead female pheasants that are on the right side of the table. Hanging off of the table is a piece of rope that has several small dead birds tied to it. There is also two small dead birds hanging from the table near the heron. On the far right hand side of the image there is a man in 1800’s style butcher clothing holding a hand raised Mehr sehen
