Grace (25) is a Black women who lives with Major Depressive Disorder and ADHD(?) and has a physical disability which means she has to use a cane and sometimes a mobility device to walk. Grace is is a recipient of ODSP. Being on ODSP she receives $1408 per month. She lives in a house with 6 other people and pays $900 for a bedroom and access to the kitchen and living areas. When her bills are paid she only has $200 for food per month and relies on food banks. She is on the list for supportive housing but the wait could be upwards of 10 years. Currently, with Graces condition she is not able to work but would like to find something part time but feels discouraged about her future. She is in a relationship with someone who has their own apartment and they have offered to let her move in but she knows there are rules with ODSP that will make it difficult for her to do this.
