My transfer to Spain Hi everyone. If you are listening to this, you can probably hear the sound of packing tape sealing cardboard boxes in the background. My name is Margot and today I want to share a special story. I’m not just memorizing exam notes at the last minute; I’m talking about my life changing radically: I am moving to Spain. While emptying this house, I noticed that every room and every object I am packing actually connects to a specific topic I studied this year. So, I decided to tell you about my journey through my school subjects, proving that culture is something we live out first-hand. Here we go." 1. PHYSICS: Light and the Nature of Waves (In the Bathroom) "Let’s start in the bathroom, the last room you leave before closing the door forever. Looking at the light reflecting on the mirror, I started thinking about the physics of Light.We learned that light has a dual nature, known as wave-particle duality: it behaves like a wave when it travels through space, but shows particle-like properties—in the form of energy packets called photons—when it hits matter. Unlike sound, it doesn’t need a material medium to travel; it propagates perfectly through a vacuum at about 300,000 kilometers per second.The light I am going to see in Spain is physically exactly the same, but through reflection and refraction, it will reveal the new colors of my future.
