Cupboards are opened by the veteran looking for tea bags - a couple of loose ones are in an otherwise empty cupboard - a jubilant shake before they go in the mugs. The veteran opens the fridge - almost nothing is inside - a dribble of milk in a single pint container. He pours the drops of milk into one of the mugs and offers it to Glyn. A sheepish smile. Glyn graciously accepts. We/Glynn clock the empty cupboards, fast food salt and pepper sachets, a single fork on the sink. Glynn writes ‘Food’ on his notepad. The veteran looks into his tea thoughtfully, raises his eyes to Glynn - a knowing look passes between them.
