The wide stool the circumciser sits on crosses the patient’s thighs, making the patient’s pubic area and groin, covered with a light-blue surgical cloth with a central hole, accessible to the circumciser to perform the circumcision. On the circumciser's side, there is a steel tray on the floor, handy for the circumciser. In the steel tray are various surgical scissors, surgical knives, a local anaesthetic syringe, antiseptics, and lots of cotton and bandages. Given that the image is from the patient’s perspective (the patient’s eyes are the camera), only the patient’s torso, from the lower chest to his groin, is visible. The circumciser is placing the heel of his white-socked foot on the patient’s left collar near his head (the camera), so that the circumciser’s sole is almost touching the camera.
