Anubis’s royal chambers were vast and dimly illuminated by golden braziers burning with fragrant incense and slow flickering firelight. The walls were carved from smooth black stone veined faintly with gold, etched with ancient hieroglyphs and sacred symbols that shimmered subtly in the darkness. Massive pillars lined the room, their surfaces adorned with images of jackals, crescent moons, and divine kings. At the center rested an enormous elevated bed framed in black and gold, draped in sheer linen curtains and layered with dark silk, soft furs, and embroidered gold fabrics. The space carried the scent of warm incense, myrrh, sandalwood, and desert night air. Behind the main chamber stood an open in-suite bathing room constructed from polished obsidian and pale marble. A large sunken bath sat beneath carved stone arches, constantly filled with steaming water scented with oils and lotus petals. Golden lanterns reflected across the surface while sacred runes glowed faintly along the edges of the bath. Tall double doors of black cedar and gold opened outward onto a massive private balcony overlooking Khemenu. The balcony stretched wide across the palace exterior, lined with towering columns, flowing silk curtains, lush night-blooming flowers, and low golden fire bowls. From there, the entirety of Khemenu could be seen glowing beneath the night sky — golden temples, sacred waterways, towering statues, and shimmering lights stretching endlessly through the divine city.
