The Ghost of Christmas Past took Scrooge to a familiar place. They arrived at the old office on a freezing, snowy night. Despite the ice on the windows, the building was glowing with golden light. Inside, the furniture was moved to make space for dancing, and the walls were decorated with green holly. Besides the beautiful decorations, the office was filled with the delicious smell of a Christmas feast. Scrooge saw his younger self, looking energetic and cheerful next to the legendary Mr. Fezziwig. Because of this warm atmosphere, the old Scrooge felt a sudden mix of joy and regret. Moreover, he was deeply moved by Mr. Fezziwig’s kindness toward everyone in the room. Although it was only a distant memory, the emotions felt completely real to him.
